About Candyland Marijuana
Candyland is a potent sativa strain created from breeding Granddaddy Purple and Platinum Cookies. This is an award-winning strain that won a gold medal at the 2012 KushCon. Being a sativa, Candyland is a great cannabis strain to use if you’re looking to feel happy and euphoric. Its flavor is predominantly sweet with earthy and flowery tones. Trichome crystals cover the small but dense buds lined with green and gold colors.
Candyland Strain Effects
Most users report that Candyland makes them feel happy, uplifted and euphoric. This makes it a great choice for both medical and recreational purposes. For those enjoying Candlyand recreationally try using it during the day or when you need to be uplifted, motivated or energized. Generally, it’s not recommended to use a strain like this before bed as it may keep you up and give you more energy.
For medical patients, it’s an excellent choice for treating depression. It can also help greatly reduce stress. Some report that it can help with pain but an indica or hybrid may be better suited to directly help treat pain especially before going to sleep. The most common side effects are dry mouth and dry eyes so be sure to have some water handy. Others report a paranoid or anxious feeling yet some patients claim that it actually helps relieve these feelings. Try it for yourself by grabbing some from one of our Spokane dispensaries.
More Info About Candyland
With a THC level of approximately 19%, it is one of the more potent strains but not as high as some others like Green Crack or Ogre OG which can reach as high as 24% to 27%! Most users report a sweet, candy-like taste when they use this strain. This is especially the case when it’s turned into a concentrate. The natural terpenes really bring out the sweet flavor of Candyland when used in this way.

Candyland, a product of the San Francisco Bay Area in California, is a Sativa-dominant strain that was a cross between the infamous Grand Daddy Purple strain (aka Grand Daddy Purps) and a Bay Area Platinum Cookies strain. It was originally bred by Ken Estes who was part of the team that bred the original Grand Daddy Purple.
Candyland buds are small and dense with a slightly darker shade of green than your typical bright green Sativa strain. Its trichomes are plentiful when grown properly, looking as if the bud could have been dipped in sugar. The red hairs are a dull red but run longer than normal, almost making the buds look fuzzy from a distance.
When smoking this strain expect a very earthy flavor with hints of sweets and spices. Its effects lean towards it’s Sativa properties making it a mentally stimulating strain with little to no body effects when smoked in smaller doses. The strain is great for social functions or creative activities – anything where your brain must be active and engaged. When consumed in larger quantities, and especially by novice users, the strain can impact anxiety and paranoia as is typical with strong Sativa strains. You may want to try a hit or two before committing to a full joint.
Candyland is a comparatively easy strain to grow when weighed against other Sativas. It can be grown indoors and outdoors with a flowering period of between 8-9 weeks on an indoor grow and a September harvest for outdoor grows. The weight really piles on towards the end of the growth cycle as the buds begin to weigh down the plant’s rather tall and skinny frame. Yields can reach up to 2.5 ounces per plant indoors with outdoor yields up to 3 pounds per plant.
Candyland was a Gold Medalist in KushCon 2012 in Denver which boasted a record 50,000 attendees for that particular convention.
